Remember those early olympic lift PRs? The smiles, high fives, and the high that lasts for hours afterwards… Those feelings are rare and special, and keep us coming back.
Few would argue that these accomplishments are a huge driver to a continued commitment to the gym. It’s common sense. It feels good to accomplish things, and be celebrated.
These moments also build our confidence. It starts to leak beyond the gym and we can feel the impact on other areas of our life.
“All of our behaviors, actions, thoughts, and beliefs are influenced by our inner drive to succeed. These basic physiological motivational drives affect our natural behavior in different environments.” - Scott T. Rabideau Rochester Institute of Technology
Again, few would argue that the impact CrossFit can have outside the gym is just as important as what happens inside it.
Achievement is addicting. If our members are achieving, they are addicted to the gym and to our brand. They prioritize it amongst their other life demands.
They are also maximizing their benefit. They are happier, more confident. They are likely to earn more and can then invest more into even further bettering themselves bringing abundance to everyone involved.
We all intuitively know this, but do we do everything we can to ensure we are maximizing it? Sometimes it can get lost in the shuffle. Here are a few simple ideas to help.
Use a tracking system
All of your members should be hyper aware of their PRs. If you are leaving it up to them to track their own information via notebook or otherwise, you are opening the door for it to be neglected.
Use a system like Level Method, Wodify, or Sugarwod to make it simple and routine to log in and track daily results. Using a system like this also makes results public to the community which encourages accountability and compliance.
Build celebration into the culture of your gym
The more encouraging the environment is, the more these achievements mean.
Each acknowledgement, no matter the size, equates in a hit of dopamine and an incremental increase in the addiction to your brand.
Create more achievement opportunities
Every metric that is tracked is another that can create an achievement. Fitness contains endless options for identifying progress outside of the standard strength and benchmark PRs.
Very often gym owners miss so many opportunities to acknowledge their member’s successes and each represents a chance to strengthen the bond members have with your gym.
The Level Method is designed to make it easy to accomplish all 3 of these opportunities to better your gym and member retention.
As a platform it provides a simple system to log results, encourages community accountability and acknowledgement, and creates a ton more opportunities to celebrate accomplishment.
This is just one of the many ways Level Method encourages intense devotion from your members while making your life easier at the same time. Learn more through this free webinar.
